THE FEELING BEHIND THE NAME
When we first got the property, it felt calm and relaxing. There was a good energy here—a peaceful feeling that made it easy to settle in and simply enjoy being here.
That feeling inspired the name Tranquility Avenue. It is also what we hope to share with our guests: a welcoming place to take a breath, unwind, and feel at ease during their time in Cincinnati.

HISTORIC ROOTS · A WELCOME FOR TODAY
Our building's reported 1905 construction date places it in a period when Norwood was adding homes, public services, and manufacturing spaces. That wider neighborhood story gives the property its historical setting.
According to the history gathered by our host, a former owner worked for the U.S. Printing Company, and rooms in the home were rented to people employed at the printing factory. That account adds a working-life connection to the property's story: a place to stay for people whose work brought them to Norwood.
Today, Christopher and Demetria are creating their own chapter at Tranquility Avenue: comfortable private apartments, personal hosting, and a welcoming home base for people visiting Cincinnati.
Whether you are here for a few days or a longer assignment, we want you to have space to settle in and feel welcome.

Norwood built a yellow-brick firehouse beside the old town hall near Montgomery Road and Elm Avenue in 1905. It served as headquarters until its replacement in 1974.

1905 PROJECT · 1907 OPENING
The Norwood library project began in 1905, the year listed for our building. The Carnegie-funded library opened in 1907, giving this neighborhood landmark a connection to the same period of growth.
Its Italian Renaissance design includes Rookwood urns and sculpted reliefs at the entrance—a piece of local architectural history to notice while exploring Norwood.
Discover the library's history ↗The property's 1905 date comes from a modern property-record summary; an original construction permit has not been reviewed. The firehouse, factory expansions, and library project offer context for Norwood in that era, rather than evidence of a direct connection to this home. Construction, project-start, and opening dates are distinguished below. The printing-company employment and worker-rental account comes from the host's historical research and recollection. The rental arrangement has not been independently verified with tenant or lease records; it does not establish that the present apartment layout existed then.
